KD Fasteners, Inc. recommends titanium grade 2 lock nuts for their stiffness, toughness, high strength, low density, and low weight.

Titanium grade 2 lock nuts offer great corrosion resistance due to a strongly adherent, stable and protective oxide film which forms on titanium grade 2 when in the presence of oxygen. This film makes titanium grade 2 resistant to most oxidizing, neutral and inhibited reducing as well as mildly reducing environments.

These lock nuts are useful in corrosive environments including salt water, acids, alkalis, and other industrial chemicals. They are resistant to solutions containing chlorites, hypochlorites, chlorates, perchlorates and chlorine dioxide.

In addition, titanium grade 2 lock nuts are an economical choice for your application.
