Nitronic 60 nylon lock nuts are an extremely versatile and economic fastener. They offer corrosion-resistant, high temperature resistant and ultimate tensile strength.

Also known as alloy 60, Nitronic 60 is a chrome, manganese and nickel-based alloy bearing properties of high nickel alloys.

Compared to other stainless-steel grades, Nitronic 60 offers better chloride pitting resistance. Due to its grain structure, the galling resistance of Nitronic 60 is superior to that of any stainless steel. It resists wear, tearing or freeze-up of both the primary and contact materials over a wide range of service temperatures. It also has an oxidation resistance similar to 309 stainless steel and far superior to 304 stainless steel.

Nitronic 60 is strong in temperatures of up to 1800°F. It is made stronger with cold working and is fully austenitic after severe cold working.

Nitronic 60 Characteristics:nitronic 60 lock nut

  • Corrosion resistant
  • High temperature resistant
  • Ultimate tensile strength
  • Good chloride pitting resistance
  • Galling and wearing resistance
  • Good in temperatures up to 1800°F
  • Good oxidation resistance
  • Good chloride pitting resistance
  • Good stress corrosion cracking resistance
  • Good crevice corrosion resistance

The addition of a nylon insert to the Nitronic 60 lock nuts ensure nuts stay fastened despite any vibration they may encounter.
