316 and 316L stainless steel are a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. 316 series stainless steel contains more nickel compared to 304 stainless steel which gives it a better corrosions resistance compared to 300 series stainless steel. 316 stainless steel can withstand such harsh environments while being exposed to water (fresh and sea), chloride corrosion, and other chemicals such as sulfuric, phosphoric and acetic acids. It also offers good strength and creep resistance while being exposed to subzero temperatures while still maintain mechanical and corrosion resistances.

What are hex nuts?
Hex nuts are a 6 sided nut with threads in the middle that are meant to mate with a threaded bolt with similar threads. We carry hex nuts in a variety of styles. We also carry the metric equivalent in 316 stainless steel in metric which is A4 stainless. It includes:
- Coupling nuts
- Finished hex nuts
- Machine screws (regular and small pattern)
- Heavy hex nuts
- All metal lock nuts
- Nylon lock nuts
- Serrated flange lock nuts
