KD Fasteners, Inc.’s Titanium Grade 2 socket set screws are a good economical choice while still offering the light weight and corrosion resistance you’re looking for in a Titanium grade.

Titanium Grade 2 is resistant to seawater corrosion – even at high temperatures – and to general localized attack under most oxidizing, neutral and inhibited reducing conditions. Socket set screws made with Titanium Grade 2 offer good stiffness, toughness, high strength, low density, and low weight.

Titanium grade 2 socket set screws have a stable oxide film – called a passive layer – which regenerates almost instantly in the presence of water or oxygen. As a result, Titanium Grade 2 socket set screws resist chlorides, chlorines, and chlorine chemicals because of their strongly oxidizing nature which help to heal any damage to the passive layer.

As long as water or oxygen is present, Titanium Grade 2 socket set screws’ will regenerate their protective oxide layer if damaged.
